Updates and Happenings

Congratulations to the Seniors of Creighton Community Public Schools. We especially honor the seniors from St. Ludger: Claire Fanta, Mary Zimmerer, Brook Baller, Shane Asher, Joshua Borgmann, Brandon Borgmann, Garrett Zimmerer, Eli Kliment, and Brooklyn Henry.

The Baccalaureate Service for all the Seniors, sponsored by the Ministerial Association, is on Sunday at 2pm at the school gym. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to pray with other Christians because it is a great witness to the Senior class of our unity as Christians. Even if you don’t have a child or grandchild graduating, your attendance means a great deal for our community and our kids.

Ascension Thursday is this week (May 4/5). It is a Holy Day of obligation. We will have three Masses. On Wednesday we will celebrate the vigil at St. Ludger at 7pm. This will also be our closing Mass for Family Formation and Religious Ed. On Thursday we will have the school Mass at 8:30 AM and then celebrate it at St. Ignatius at 7:00 PM.

New this year, we will be having a May Crowning for Mary as the month of May is dedicated to Mary. It will be held immediately after the Wednesday evening Ascension Mass (May 4). In fact, we will all process out during the closing hymn to the Mary Statue. The servers will lead the congregation out with the back pews going first. As everyone is gathering around the
statue, I, along with a little girl with the crown, will take up the rear and make our way to the statue. Mary will be crowned. There will be a few short prayers and then a hymn.

We have a parish council meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7pm.

I will be gone May 9th and 10th for the Archbishop’s Envisioning Team Meeting. There will be no Mass on that Tuesday,
